Forty Five Sportswear
Brand Identity: Retail ProductBackground: Forty Five is a new range of sportswear designed specifically for Gaelic games. The brand takes it’s name from a special free called a ’45’ in Gaelic football, awarded to an attacking team if a defender plays the ball last before it crosses the defenders’ end line. This free is so called because it is taken from the defenders’ 45 metre line.
Our solution: We presented several options to the client, most of which offered generic options of how the logo would work with different sports products (at the early stage, this was limited to gloves and socks). The option chosen by the client was a strong yet elegant modified typographic solution which stands out in retail and marketing environments. The copyline ‘Raise Your Game’ hints at the acrobatic skills of catching the ball in the air.
